The residual current circuit breaker is located next to the circuit breaker and integrates a magnetic protection to a thermal one, and in case of need it interrupts the electric current.

 

The residual current circuit breaker is, therefore, a system that combines the functions of the circuit breaker with magnetic and thermal features.

 

The residual current circuit breaker in the electrical system integrates three different protections:

• the magnetic one for short circuits that can endanger an entire building with the danger of fire;
• the thermal one for overloads in the power supply (e.g., more than one appliance in operation);
