The DS202CR series residual current circuit breaker is a 2P device in two modules for protection of single-phase end-user circuits against overload and short-circuit currents. Protection against the effects of alternating and direct pulsating sinusoidal earth fault currents. Protection against indirect contacts and additional protection against direct contacts (with sensitivity = 30 mA).

 

The Residual Current Operated Circuit Breaker is, therefore, a system that combines the functions of the circuit breaker with magnetic and thermal characteristics.

The Residual Current Operated Circuit Breaker in the electrical system integrates three different protections:

 

• the magnetic one for short circuits that can endanger an entire building with the danger of fire;
• the thermal one for overloads in the power supply (e.g., more than one appliance in operation);
• that differential proper of the circuit breaker that protects the subject from a power leakage.
   

The AC type circuit breaker the tripping is ensured for suddenly or slowly increasing applied differential sinusoidal alternating currents (IEC EN 61008-1).
