Pressure relief valves are typically used to control pressure on heat generators in heating systems. When the set pressure is reached, the valve opens and, by venting to atmosphere, prevents the system pressure from reaching dangerous limits for the generator and the components in the system.
The 527 series valves have positive action, that is, performance is guaranteed even if the diaphragm deteriorates or ruptures.
