This safety valve opens automatically when the set pressure is reached, discharging excess fluid to prevent damage to the system. Once the pressure drops, the valve closes again within the set limits, ensuring continuous protection of the system. Its sturdy brass construction ensures long-lasting operation.

Function

Safety valves are typically used for pressure control on heat generators in heating systems, hot water storage tanks in plumbing systems and water systems. Ordinary safety valves, according to Italian regulations, can be applied on generators with a capacity of less than 35 kW. When the set pressure is reached, the valve opens and, by venting to the atmosphere, prevents the system pressure from reaching dangerous limits for the generator and the components in the system.

Practical Installation

With its 1/2-inch male-female connections, this valve is easily installed on a variety of system configurations. It is important to respect the direction of flow indicated on the valve body and to mount it in a vertical or horizontal position to avoid accumulation of impurities that could compromise its efficiency.

Heating system:

Safety valves should be installed on the top of the heater or on the flow line as close as possible to the heater or within the distance where specified by applicable regulations. The piping connecting the safety valve to the generator must not be tapped.

Plumbing system:

Safety valves should be installed near the hot water storage tank taking care that there is no interposition of any shut-off device between the valve and the storage tank.
