The Legrand Whad CAB model UPS is an uninterruptible power supply for protection in MV/LV transformer substations complying with CEI 0-16 standard, with high-frequency PWM technology, On Line Double Conversion type, through-neutral, Rated Power 1250VA - 875 W, equipped with valve-regulated hermetic type storage batteries, contained inside the UPS in a special compartment or in one or more external cabinets, sized to ensure minimum autonomy.


 

The Whad CAB UPS is equipped with a CHARGE RESERVE that allows the batteries to maintain a reserve of power to ensure that the coil can always be reset and full cabin functionality restored.

 

The UPS rectifier consists of a control and regulation circuit (PFC), which in addition to normal rectifier functions provides:

• Automatically correct the load power factor to return it to a value >0.99 already with an applied output load of 20% of the rated load
• Power the inverter without requiring power from the batteries even at very low line voltage (grid-supplied operation for VIN values of 110 Vac at 50% of rated load)
• Ensure total harmonic distortion of the input current THDIin < 3% without the addition of additional filters or components
  
   

The bypass circuit is designed and implemented in accordance with the following: Electromechanical switch, Microprocessor-controlled command and control logic that provides:

• Automatically transfer the load directly to the primary grid without interrupting the power supply, upon the occurrence of the conditions of overload, overtemperature, out-of-tolerance DC voltage, and inverter failure
• Automatically re-transfer the load from primary grid to inverter line, without power interruption, upon restoration of normal load conditions
• If the primary grid and inverter are not synchronized, the bypass will have to be disabled
  
   

In order to safeguard batteries from damage from deep discharge, the minimum allowable battery voltage threshold automatically varies according to the applied load (default setting), while allowing the user the option of selecting fixed voltage threshold management.

 

Diagnostic and shutdown software, when properly installed in a PC connected to the UPS, provides access to all operating data, makes adjustments and settings of special functions, and controls shutdown of Windows and Linux operating systems.

 

Optional software enables hierarchical multiserver shotdown and remote UPS management for any operating system in a heterogeneous network (Windows, Novell, Linux, and popular Unix). Whad CAB is microprocessor-controlled and can display via an LED control panel alarms and operating modes as described below:
