Cembre bimetallic lug: Reliable connection between copper and aluminum

The Cembre CAA240-M12 bimetallic lug is designed for professional termination of aluminum cables in low and medium voltage systems, up to 30,000 V. The bimetallic structure consists of: pure aluminum collar (>99.5%), for aluminum conductors; electrolytic copper flap (>99.9%), for connection on copper bars, terminals, or terminals.

This combination ensures a stable electrical connection, eliminating galvanic corrosion problems between the two materials.

Friction welding and corrosion protection

The junction between copper and aluminum is achieved by friction welding, a process that ensures electrical continuity, mechanical stability and long service life. The interior of the collar is pretreated with high drop-point grease, which protects against oxidation, while filler filler improves insulation and seals the terminal.

Optimized geometry for crimping

The lug body has a deep notch geometry, which allows precise and uniform compression with compatible tools. Facilitated conductor entry and no telltale hole improve installation efficiency, preventing leakage and incorrect deformation during crimping.

Ideal for critical environments and installations

Designed for extreme working conditions, the lug is certified for a temperature range of -50 °C to +150 °C. It is suitable for electrical panels, MV substations, industrial plants and all applications where a connection between aluminum conductors and copper terminals is required.
