This is where Luna Compact comes in, Baxi's new boiler designed to be installed in small and medium-sized apartments or houses and in all those living contexts where space is limited: in fact, its compact dimensions (700x395x285 mm) allow it to be installed in kitchen wall units or in tight spaces.
Luna Compact is designed to operate with a blend of up to 20 percent hydrogen, thus reducing CO2 emissions by 6 percent compared to operation with 100 percent natural gas. This is the first step in our journey toward decarbonization, in line with Baxi's ongoing commitment to protecting the environment and reducing polluting emissions.
The Luna Compact range of condensing boilers is equipped with an innovative single loop stainless steel exchanger with large water passage sections for increased heat output and seasonal efficiency:
Self-cleaning stainless steel single loop: designed with wide water passages to reduce deposits and facilitate cleaning. Stainless steel provides corrosion resistance and long life, while the internal structure minimizes fouling, preventing clogging and maintaining high performance over time;
Increased seasonal thermal efficiency: optimized design significantly reduces pressure drop, improving energy efficiency throughout the year. It ensures more effective heat transfer, helping to reduce operating costs;
Reliability and durability: the shape of the coils allows the system to remain in optimal condition with minimal cleaning due to easy access to the combustion chamber. The system is designed to withstand severe operating conditions, ensuring long service life and reliability.
The control panel of the Luna Compact range features a revamped interface with:
control panel with black display for easy reading;
simple settings for adjusting heating temperature and domestic hot water using four dedicated buttons;
4 buttons with dedicated functions: menu, confirm, return to previous level, reset, summer, winter and off modes;
visualization of system pressure in the display and appearance of a warning in case of any decrease in pressure to prevent boiler lockout.
The modulation system of the Luna Compact range is able to adjust the heat output to the power required by the building, avoiding excessive overheating/cooling of rooms. The wide modulation range (up to 1:10), which distinguishes Luna Compact boilers, results in a significant reduction in on/offs, thus improving the efficiency of the boiler and providing the end user with considerable savings. The user will, in addition, enjoy quieter operation in the room precisely because of the absence of repeated on/off phases, which over time can also compromise the life of the components.
It is possible to set the domestic water temperature according to one's needs for sanitary comfort: DHW production 13.8 l/minute (at the same time a tap and a shower considering approximately a domestic water flow of the shower of 8 l/min and the tap of 4 l/min).
Thanks to the new software installed in the new Luna Compact, reaching the desired temperature for domestic water is faster, minimizing waiting time and saving water. In case of a momentary shut-off of domestic water, the boiler keeps the heat exchanger hot for up to 30 minutes, thus providing more comfort at the next hot water demand.
When the boiler is combined with a low-temperature system, the switching of the three-way valve after the closure of domestic water is avoided, maintaining the appropriate temperature inside the boiler at the next reopening. This function avoids waste of energy.
This function allows heating-only boilers (Luna Compact 1.24) to speed up the setting of domestic water temperature by forcing, for 30 minutes, the temperature to a perfect comfort level (only in combination with a DHW tank).
