FLU25PL Series flow switches are equipped with a metal reed that, when immersed in the fluid, actuates a switch by means of appropriate linkage when the threshold flow rate is reached. The flow switches are equipped with a set of reeds to be used according to different pipe diameters. The metal bellows ensures the separation of the hydraulic part from the electrical part, which is located inside a polymer housing having IP64 degree of protection.

 

The value of the tripping flow rate can be adjusted (between a minimum and a maximum value) by acting on the appropriate calibration screw. Flow switches are used as protective devices in all applications where circulation of fluid in a circuit is necessary to ensure the proper operation of installed devices or to prevent damage to them. In heating systems with a closed expansion tank, flow switches are used to cut off the heat supply to the circuit in the event of a circulating pump shutdown (as provided in ISPESL Collection R chapter R.3.B.).

 

For proper operation, it is recommended to:

• Respect the direction of flow as indicated by the arrow stamped on the housing
• Mount the flow switch on horizontal piping (with vertical slat)
• Maintain a certain distance from sources of turbulence (bends, valves, etc.); the recommended minimum distance is 5 times the pipe diameter
• Maintain the minimum distance of 55 mm between the pipe and the lower base of the appliance
• In heating systems, mounting on the return pipe is preferable
