Current transformer for alternating current instruments

Through bar current transformer designed for measuring alternating current in energy monitoring and control systems. With a nominal capacity of 250/5 A, this device is ideal for civil, industrial, or tertiary installations where accurate conversion of primary current into standardized secondary signal is required.

Installation versatility: DIN rail or panel

One of the strengths of the TU 40 is the dual mounting mode, allowing installation:

  • On DIN rail, for quick and compact mounting inside electrical panels

  • On panel, using the supplied supports, for more structured applications

This flexibility allows the technician to adapt the transformer to the existing plant layout without complex modifications.

Through hole and compatibility with bars and cables

The transformer is equipped with a central hole for the passage of the primary conductor:

  • Compatible with bars of section 25x10 mm, 30x10 mm or 40x10 mm

  • Also compatible with cables up to Ø 30 mm

This allows the use of the TU 40 both in installations where flexible conductors are present and in installations with large section rigid conductors.

Accuracy and safety

The device offers a selectable accuracy class based on the secondary load:

  • Class 0.5 (up to 5 VA)

  • Class 1 (up to 7.5 VA)

  • Class 3 (up to 10 VA)

Furthermore, the TU 40 is designed to operate under continuous overload conditions up to 1.2 In, ensuring stability and reliability even in case of current peaks. The maximum operating voltage of 720 V also makes it suitable for medium voltage installations.

Construction details

The double secondary terminal facilitates the connection of the measuring instrument and allows easier management during maintenance or replacement of devices. The compact dimensions ensure easy integration even in confined spaces.
