The pure earth leakage circuit breaker is used to protect people and not the equipment. The moment a person goes to touch it, it creates a circuit with the earth. The current instead of remaining in the domestic circuit, uses the human body to go to earth.
The residual current circuit breaker, also called circuit breaker, is a device in your electrical system. It is able to open the circuit, i.e. to interrupt the supply of energy, at the moment in which the current is accidentally lost.
A pure residual current circuit breaker offers protection in case of current leakage but not in case of overvoltage. For this type of problem, a circuit breaker is required instead.
The AC residualcurrent circuit breaker operates only with alternating current. Almost all civil installations fall into this type.
