The automatic filling unit is a device consisting of a pressure reducer with a compensated seat, an inlet filter, a shut-off tap and a check valve. It is to be installed on the water supply pipe in closed-circuit heating systems, and its main function is to keep the pressure of the system stable, at a set value, by automatically providing for the make-up of missing water. After installation, during the filling or make-up phase, the supply will stop when the set pressure is reached.
The unit is equipped at the bottom with a manual shut-off tap that gives the option of shutting off the system supply. To restore automatic loading conditions, simply reopen the tap. The pressure value in the system will gradually return to the set calibration value.
The valve body is made of hot-pressed brass. The reinforced rubber control diaphragm is formed with a shaping that allows deformations without creating tension. The compensating piston has the unique sealing element placed at the top of the device so that no impurities can be deposited.
Ideal for closed-circuit heating systems, the unit ensures that the pressure remains constant, preventing damage to the systems. Pressure can be adjusted by turning the internal regulator, with a range from 0.3 to 4 bar.
Installation of the filling unit can be done either with vertical or horizontal piping, respecting the direction of flow indicated on the valve. It is essential that the unit is not installed upside down. Adjustment is made by acting on the regulator on the inside of the top cover: turning clockwise or counterclockwise, respectively, increases or decreases the pressure at which the unit will intervene.
Filling of the system should be done slowly, since the amount of water introduced is proportional to the amount of air vented.
When the system has been filled, the shut-off tap on the unit can be closed. When water replenishment is needed, the tap will be opened until the set pressure is reached.
