Used to transform primary currents into secondary currents .../5 A by indirectly supplying analog and digital type measuring equipment; they are available either with wound primary or with feed-through primary. In the former case they are supplied together with the bar or primary terminal; in the latter they provide a hole in which to insert the bar or cable that constitutes the primary.

 

The current transformer or CT, in its simplest form, consists of two windings (primary and secondary) insulated from each other and a magnetic core on which the windings are wound.
