The residual current device, also called a circuit breaker, is a device in your electrical system. It is capable of opening the circuit, that is, shutting off the power supply, the moment the current accidentally dissipates.

 

A Residual current device offers protection in case of current leakage but not in case of overvoltage. Instead, the circuit breaker is required for this type of problem.
