PLANET GSD-1002M is an 8-port 10/100/1000Mbps + 2-port 100/1000X SFP managed desktop switch specially designed to build a reliable full Gigabit backbone to transmit and forward data to the remote network via fiber optics. It provides 8 copper 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and 2 extra 100/1000BASE-X SFP fiber optic interfaces with dual power system. The GSD-1002M supports SSHv2 and TLS protocols to provide effective protection against advanced threats. The GSD-1002M has a strong rapid automatic recovery capability to prevent external disruptions and intrusions. It incorporates Spanning Tree protocol (802.1s MSTP), automatic circuit protection and dual power system (PoE In + 12 V DC) in the customer's automation network to improve system reliability and uptime. In the example below, the PoE power supply has been interrupted due to cable drop, and the DC power supply will automatically perform the hardware failover function to continue to power the switch without any loss.
The GSD-1002M can be programmed for advanced switch management features such as dynamic link aggregation to ports, 802.1Q VLAN and VLAN Q-in-Q, Multiple Spanning Tree (MSTP) protocol , loop protection and BPDU , IGMP snooping and MLD snooping . Through link aggregation, the GSD-1002M enables the combination of high-speed trunk operation with multiple ports and also supports failover. PLANET GSD-1002M offers full IPv4/IPv6 from Layer 2 to Layer 4 Access Control List (ACL) to strengthen security all the way to the periphery. It can be used to restrict network access by denying packets based on source and destination IP address, TCP/UDP ports, or typical network applications defined. Its protection mechanism also includes 802.1X port-based device and user authentication , which can be implemented with RADIUS and TACACS+ to provide port-level security and block illegal users. With the secure port function , communication between edge ports can be prevented to ensure user privacy. In addition, the port security function allows you to limit the number of network devices on a given port.
The GSD-1002M provides high-performance edge services and plug-and-play design for Fiber to the Desktop (FTTD) solutions. FTTD service is fiber optic cabling with reliable and expandable cabling architectures with low cost and long distance capabilities. The GSD-1002M supports dual-speed, 100BASE-FX and 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber optic modules to connect fiber access points, with high flexibility to be installed in the communication closet or main SME computer room.
Since port 8 of the GSD-1002M provides in-line PoE PD power and 12V DC interface, it can obtain PoE power from any 802.3af/at PoE PSE equipment. The GSD-1002M has a non-blocking design and handheld size and extends 100BASE-FX/1000BASE-SX/LX SFP fiber optic modules to 8 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 ports, bringing network infrastructure higher flexibility but lower cost.
