The thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is located next to the circuit breaker and integrates a magnetic protection to a thermal one, and in case of need it interrupts the electric current.
The thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is, therefore, a system that combines the functions of the circuit breaker with magnetic and thermal features.
The magneto-thermal differential switch in the electrical system integrates three different protections:
Curve C, trip threshold of 5 to 10 times In, for application of ohmic-inductive circuits with medium inrush currents. And widely used in domestic systems.
F-type Residual Current Circuit Breakers introduced by the recent product standard IEC EN 62423, provide effective protection against indirect contacts in the presence of loads equipped with single-phase frequency converters.
F-type residual current circuit breakers are specially developed for protection against indirect contacts when using consumer equipment equipped with single-phase inverters, such as heat pumps and washing machines. In the event of an inverter ground fault they produce differential fault currents at varying frequencies, which AC and A-type earth leakage circuit breakers cannot detect.
