Auxiliary contacts are secondary switching devices that operate in conjunction with primary switching equipment such as circuit breakers, relays, and contactors. These contacts are physically connected to the main switching mechanism and are activated simultaneously.
What are they used for? Auxiliary contacts are used for various functions, e.g. self-holding, consent/block, signaling, interlocking.
It is an auxiliary used to attenuate the effects of overvoltage between phase and neutral (caused, for example, by the loss of neutral in the three-phase supply upstream of the auxiliary) downstream of the point of installation of the device. In the event of an overvoltage, the release causes the opening of the protection device with which it is associated.
