The 3KA and 3KE switch-disconnectors are used as main control switches, emergency stop, maintenance and transfer switches in distribution boards for residential and non-residential buildings as well as industrial switchgear assemblies. As three- and four-pole versions, they ensure the switching on and off of the specified rated current under load. At the same time, they provide a safety isolation function and isolation distance in all low-voltage circuits. All 3K switch-disconnectors are climate proof and meet the requirements of IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-3 and VDE 0660 Part 107.
The switch-disconnector, otherwise known as a voltage isolator, has the same functions as a switch, but on a larger scale: it is, in fact, responsible for shutting off the flow of energy to the power stations. This serves mainly to ensure the safety of the plant and primarily of the people who work inside since one of its peculiarities is to separate the flow of energy from the working environments. Another peculiarity of this instrument is the ability to detect defects in the electrical flow and isolate them. When the defect is corrected, the disconnector will ensure that the current flows normally again.
